Star Wars 2019
Preparations are already under way at Bellevue for the Star Wars battle of these two Michelin-honored chefs, our ninth presentation of this popular tradition. Join us from 9 (evening) to 13 April and compare the culinary arts of two gastronomic artists. This year, Italy's Massimiliano Musso will compete against Alan Geaam, a Frenchman with Lebanese roots.
Massimiliano Musso is not a newcomer to Bellevue, since this is his third appearance as a Star Warrior. He is executive chef at the Ca' Vittoria restaurant in Tigliole d'Asti in the region of Piedmont. He inherited his love of cooking from his mother and grandmother, who were also successful chefs. He was awarded his Michelin star in 1997. Massimiliano loves Italian cuisine and uses local ingredients and edible flowers to create unique, irresistible dishes.
Alan Geaam owns four restaurants in Paris, but he has gained experience around the world. He is of Lebanese origin, studied in the US, and refined his cooking skills in Liberia and Italy, and also worked briefly in the Czech Republic. However, France and its cuisine have always attracted him the most. He began his career in Paris 24 years ago, working as a kitchen helper and washing dishes at night. One day the chef fell ill, and Alan took his place. This bold move literally changed his life. He began cooking seriously, and the diners loved his food. His dishes always combine flavors and ingredients from all corners of the world. The restaurant that bears his name won its Michelin star in 2018.
The rules of the Star Wars duel at Bellevue are simple. Both guest chefs cook a five-course menu, and each guest will taste everything. Then they will be asked to guess which food was created by which chef and to award points to the individual dishes. At the end of the contest, the points are added up and the winner's menu will be included on the Bellevue's menu for some time.
Which of these two top chefs will win the Bellevue battle? Come and help choose the winner in April.
